Rockabilly Wedding

When think about a wedding,
Immediately comes to mind a groom, bride, music,
Cake and romance.
When you think about Rockabilly Wedding,
You also think about rock and roll ...
And when you mix them together ...  party time ....
I love weddings Rockabilly, here are some tips and ideas ♥

Picture from :

What Is Rockabilly?

The rockabilly wave began in the late 1950s,
When young up and comers like Elvis and Johnny Cash
Were laying roots on the music scene.
Rockabilly combines bits of country and bluegrass for
Twang with rock music for a youthful, unique vibe.
Rockabilly enthusiasts drove fast cars, listened to
Their music loud, and dressed with a bit of rebellious
Risqué-ness that was unique and exciting.

Rockabilly weddings usually have a red and white or red
And black theme (don’t think about the red wedding though!
And they feature classic rockabilly style staples like polka dots,
Bows, hearts, records, 50s music (of course), bright lipstick,
Red shoes (creeper shoes?), pompadour hair and victory rolls.
Couples that choose to spend their happiest day in a perfect 50s
Style should start planning with plenty of anticipation:
Planning a wedding is never easy, but planning a 1950s inspired
Wedding might take a bit more effort.

Cake- The possibilities are endless with this one.
Get a tattoo inspired cake, records, pinup, even a polka dotted
Cake would be cool! Have a giant heart on it, use cool 50s bride and
Groom cake toppers. Get creative with it.

CandiesThere are always plenty of candies,
Or cupcakes at rockabilly weddings. We don’t know why,
Maybe it’s just because they’re colorful to the right point.

Placeholders- This is a good thing to start from for
Super cool wedding. You can get really creative with
Placeholders, they can literally be everything, even records.

Tattoo inspiration- We bet that if you’re planning a rockabilly
Wedding you have one tattoo or two, don’t you?
A tattoo inspired centrepiece will give a whole new
Light to those tables.

Photo booth - Hire a photo booth and place a box full of
Props next to it. See your guests getting creative and having fun,
And collect lots of cool photos to look at in the years to follow.

Elvis impersonator - This could be a fun idea to animate the evening!
Or you could make the groom do it. What’s better than an
Elvis song played by your husband (impersonating Elvis)?

?So what theme you choose for your wedding

See you on the next post.

Little Black Wedding Dress

This week we will talk about a little black wedding dress.
Do you have the courage to get married with it?
What would your mother say?
Let's find out.

Image from Google

We're use to think that black dress can be used only for evening

Dress but many designers in the USA and Europe are now claiming

That the black dress can also use as a wedding dress.

The Goth scene is now gaining momentum and you can see more

And more brides with black and white dresses. One of the famous

Brides who got married in a black dress was Sarah Jessica Parker,

Who got married in 1997.

There are quiet a lot brides who don’t like the color white

And find themselves wearing it owing to inertia. Many women

Rather black and for them wearing a black wedding dress is

A dream coming true. Instead of following the social conventions

They are choosing what's right for them in their big day.

On the other hand, you don’t have to wear a black wedding dress

Just because of the color. If you are aware of its benefits,

There are many ways to combine it. Colors combinations are Common

Among the modern bride, such purple, gold and red. Yet,

It seems that the black and white combination is the most elegant And classic.

· In Spain it is a tradition for women to wear
Black gowns, which are to symbolize that the
Bride is faithful until death.

The symbolic meaning of a black wedding dress:

According to,
Black is considered the color "of mourning."
A black wedding gown would indicate
That the bride was unhappy or unwilling to be
Joined in marriage.

In some cases, the black wedding dress
Symbolizes mourning for a deceased person.
In fact, notes that
Brides in the 1800s and early 1900s wore
A black wedding dress when they were
Marrying a widower.

Bad Luck

Black wedding dresses are commonly
Associated with bad luck.
A common wedding rhyme explains
This by saying "married in black,
You'll wish you were back."

Found on google

So what is your feeling on Black Wedding Dresses?
Would you wear one if you could get away with it?
Tell us what you think?

See you on the next post,

Alternative Guest Book

This week we will look for some cool guest book ideas.
No more of the same old books that get covered with
Dust on the book shelf, its time for some creative staff.
Here are some ideas:

Here is a nice and original idea for a guest books:
Pieces of puzzle that each guest can write on.
You can purchase this on ETSY:

A simple and no-fuss guestbook alternative!
Have your guests sign Jenga blocks
(and remember your guests whenever you play the game).

Wooden hearts

This idea is oh so romantic!
Ask your guests to sign their love on a wooden heart keepsake
That you can keep in your treasure chest to look over on your anniversary.
You could even make these wooden hearts your inspiration
For your whole wedding theme, and offer heart favours and
Incorporate a heart onto your thank you cards.
You can also find this on ETSY:

Here's another lovely idea, you can place a greeting box,
But you should start collecting pebbles from now…

Remember, when it comes to alternative guest books,
Try to think of what you would like to have in your home to
Remember your special day.  Whatever you decide to use,
You’ll be able to surround yourself with the best wishes and love
Of all your friends and family, and you’ll have a priceless memory
That you’ll both treasure for years to come.

Real Wedding Advice from Real People

When I got marries, I did things quickly,

Without much planning and advices, we went on

Cheap and simple. Today when I look back, I think

"I wish I could plan it all over again".

I would do it all differently. So, for all the new couples ive

Decided to gather some tips from people who did it.

So stop the horses, and read, you may find them realy helpful.

Good luck.

1. It’s about the two of you…

" On your wedding day… kiss each other,

hold each other, and say sweet things to each other.

This day is all about the two of you and nobody else.

Everyone else is there to enjoy and share in your happiness,

But at the end of the day it is all about you. "

2. "Choosing the person who is going to
Marry you is hard. You want someone who “gets”
You, who can share a little bit about your relationship
And your love with all of your guests. Because,
In the end, that's why we're all here, right?
Because two people loved each other enough that
they want to stand up in front of their family and friends
And make promises and vows and be with one
Another for the rest of their lives."

3. "Compromise. Compromise on things
 That matter for the family."

4.  "During the ceremony, you might not
Be able to get the ring on your spouse's finger.
Stress, heat, nervousness and etc.
All culminate into swollen fingers.
That ring that fit just fine last week
Totally won't fit without some serious
Shoving after saying those vows."

5.  "You really won't care about the little
Stuff, no really. It's not because you didn't care
About it enough before, it's because when
You're in the moment, there's no longer anything
You can do to change it, so it no longer matters.
I was surprised at how little I cared about things
When they didn't work out on my wedding day."

6.  "You will still care about the big stuff.
And something will go wrong to ruin at least one big
Thing, and it will bother you for quite a while after your wedding.
Mine was we didn't get a first dance because of a surprise
Limo showing up to whisk us away.... So we rushed through the
Cake and totally skipped the first dance. I am still pissed
I didn't get a first dance to this day."

7. "Everyone will lie to you, through their teeth,
On the day of your wedding. Seriously. I'm surprised
At how many people just flat out lied about one thing or another,
Whether in an attempt to ensure I won't worry about it or they
Just flat out didn't know so they told me what
They thought I wanted to hear."

8. "You might not be able to SLEEP on
Your wedding night. Let's put aside the post-nuptial
Nook that's hotly debated on the wedding night.
My new husband and I couldn't calm down,
Despite being exhausted, to fall asleep.
We were just so keyed up and talking about what an
Awesome time we had, no amount of relaxing, hot showers,
Benadryl or whatever would get us to pass out. We had to be
Up super early too for our honeymoon flight, so meandering onto
A cruise ship with 2 hours of sleep totally sucked."

9.  "Depending on how much time Wedding Planning
Took up prior to the wedding, you might find a lack
Of things to do for a couple weeks afterwards.
It takes some serious adjustment to realize that after
However long focusing on this one thing for this one day...
It's over, and you no longer have to worry about those
Spreadsheets or DIY projects, it's totally over.
You now have loads of free time."

10.  "Things you think would be a no brainer,
Are not no brainers. Write down who you want in pictures
And then tell those people so they know too.
You'd be surprised how many guests just assume they're
Going to be in pictures and stick around,
And how many guests who are close family
That just take off."

11.  "You will be surprised at who gives you gifts
And who doesn't. This is a touchy one since
Everyone says, "Oh, you should never expect a gift."
Well, I didn't expect gifts, having each and every
But it didn't mean I wasn't surprised that one guest
Who without fail sends us a card for every holiday,
Including the most arbitrary ones (labor day, really?!),
Didn't even get us a Congratulations card.
It stuck out because it was very unlike them.
Expectation? Maybe. Odd? Certainly."

12. "The buck doesn't stop there.
You think since the wedding is over, the money is
Done leaving your account? HA! Wedding dress
Cleaning can range from $80 - $300 depending on
What you need done and how you want it "preserved."
Not to mention postage for the Thank You cards
And getting pictures printed that your family and
Friends took, or maybe even from your photographer
Depending on the package you purchased. Oh,
And the honeymoon, one tends to spend a lot of
Money on a honeymoon, even if it was pre-paid and
"All inclusive."

13. "Slow down to take on the day!
I wish I would have slowed down and taken on the
Day more. It goes by so fast, like the blink of an eye,
That there were many details that I do not remember.
We had a large wedding of 200 people so I was not
Able to talk to everyone, dance to every song I
Wanted to, take in all the decorations, do our photo booth,
Or just take on the day. I wish I would have paused,
Slowed down, and took in everything".

I hope it helped.
If you have some more advices I would
Like you to share here.
